 Work Experience for Our Students

We have some wonderful companies, organisations and schools, who very kindly offer our students placements. Many offer placements on a year-to-year basis, with some 'old friends' working with us over the last 5-10 years. Others can only offer help for a particular student. The placements can be from local companies, Central London and where possible further afield. The aim of work experience is to enable students to develop their knowledge and understanding of the World of Work through direct participation and experience.

Work experience takes place for most of our girls early in Year 11, when the whole Year group go out into the workplace for a one-week placement during October. This year's dates are the 19th-23rd October 2009.  Other Year 10, Year 12 and Year 13 students will also go out as part of their course criteria throughout the year. This brings the total to around 270 placements per year.

Parents and friends can offer placements, but strict regulations need to be in place before they can be accepted. This may include a visit and the completion of an outline of what the student can expect i.e. what hours, travel details, which department, who they will be working with, relevant risk and insurance details.

We would like to thank the many companies and organisations that support our students and allow Work Experience to be such a valuable experience for our students.
