The area of Design & Technology gives students the opportunity to develop high-level practical skills in a range of disciplines; supported by a solid theoretical base of knowledge and understanding.

All students study Design & Technology at KS4 Level. Choices for GCSE courses are: Resistant Materials, Graphic Products, Textiles and Food Technology. At KS5, students can study Art, Textiles and Product Design.

We are a training provider for GTP and PGCE students in Design & Technology. As a Technology College, Beaverwood offers many design & technological opportunities.

Our faculty offers:

- purpose-built teaching rooms
- inter-active whiteboards
- two dedicated ICT rooms (including Systems & Control)                                                           - specialist rooms for Textiles, Resistant Materials, Graphic Products and Food Technology
- access to CAD and CAD/CAM systems
